| Class
37509 - Railfreight triple gray livery.
06/11/07 |
Going with the Railfreight sector
livery again, like the previous repaint of 37412,
although this time without a branding. I intend to
finish this model with just BR emblem and numbering
only.
Class 37509 has to the best of my
knowledge been scrapped. When it was in mainline use it
had been converted from a former split headcode box
loco, with its former central nose end door plated over,
with headlight installed. Two sealed beam marker lights
where fitted where the original headcode boxes were.
I have so far sanded down Bachmann's
original marker light panel, so that the nose is flat
with the exception of the tail lights. The marker light
holes where filled and sanded smooth. A door cover panel
was added, this is plasticard cut to the correct size. A
hole has been made for the Headlight to be installed,
and two other holes have yet to be made for the marker
lights. Of course I've somehow got to adapt the Bachmann
lighting PCB board so that the marker lights are wider
apart.
Refurbished class 37 -
Air horn grills. The
original Horns above the windows where sanded, and
filled, cab roof vents
replaced them, as the horns on this class 37 are
within the nose. All the detailing on the nose of the
locomotive is a Craftsman Kit DK.1 Hornby

Nose
detail - No. 1 End 8/11/07
I've painted hose pipes & leads, at
the time of the photgraph only black and red was added.
Headlight and marker lights are now more visable,
Headlight cluster has been made with plasticard. 4th
attempt I may add. 1st attempt went somewhere, still
can't find it, 2nd attempt crumbled while being drilled,
3rd..... was tapered incorrectly, So heres the 4th one
on the model. Works quite we'll I think. Should all come
into shape with a yellow end |
