Express
Models - Flashing Tail lamp kit
Below I have added some pictures &
text on how I installed this kit, & I will be using
a Hornby HEA wagon.
The obvious way to install one would be to hide the PCB
board (battery) inside the Wagon itself, then add a coal
load over the top. But as I have quite a long train of
HEA's I don't really want to go out and buy loads of
coal load covers - to match the single one at the end!
So I intend to run this train as an empty one. |

The kit
its self comprises of:
- Lithium Battery
- Tail lamp Wired
- Switch
- PCB board with technical
gubbings ;)

Pictured
left is the HEA wagon 'hopper' taken out of its chassis.
Its fairly easy to unclip, just be very carful of the
little ladders either end of the hopper, as you can see
mine have in fact snapped, and have decided to stay on
the chassis. These have a tendency of coming off, but
not to worry as these can be super glued on later. |
|
 |
On the
underside of the hopper, I have cut out some hopper
doors, to make way for the PCB board. |
|
 |
It is
recommend by Express Models to drill holes for the wires
to slot through, I on the other hand have decided to cut
a vertical slot in the buffer beam. So that the Wires
cut be slotted up into the grove and super glued |
|
 |
Here is
the end result, With the wires on the underside glued
into position, making sure nothing is touching the
wheels, I have glued the Switch onto the remaining
hopper shoot. |
