First visit to Peterborough station -

Sulzer power! We arrive at the Nene Valley
after a 15 minute walk from the main line station, and hear
the sounds of the class 56's powering away! Unfortunately
missed that one. |

11:46 at Peterborough class 40 D306 arrives
with a lovely rake of Mk 1's - taken from the rattling
window of the 117 DMU. |

We got a chance to get onboard the 11:49
departure, 3 car 117 DMU that was shuttling to and from
Orton mere. Certainly brang back the memories of the
Llandudno to Ffestiniog branch, being able to se what the
driver see's |

Wansford station, very delightful station,
although very much in the middle of nowhere? Class 56 057
awaiting for departure. |

D9523 Runs onto the train, for the journey
down to Yarwell Junction, Top and tailing trains are needed
here. Although I did notice there was in fact a run round
loop at Yarwell junction? Not sure why this wasn't used?
Keep a look out at the other side of the
tunnel if you visit, you may very well recognize it! As the
section of line was used in the filming of a James Bond film
- 'Golden eye' I believe. You know the one..... the film
with the futuristic looking train, that somehow seems to
have the characteristics of a class 20............???? |
